1. Does the AC take equity?
No, the AC doesn’t take any equity. You keep 100% ownership of your company and your IP.
2. Do I need to be a Canadian company to apply?
Yes. All companies working with the AC must be incorporated in Ontario or Federally, or must incorporate within 30 days of joining.
3. Does the Accelerator Centre focus on specific industries or technologies?
We’re technology agnostic! While we don’t focus on one particular industry, your business must be a technology company to participate in our programs.
4. Can I apply to multiple Accelerator Centre programs at once?
Absolutely. Many founders participate in more than one program. This is handled on a case-by-case basis, so please check with your program manager to ensure there are no conflicts or restrictions.
5. How do I know which AC program is the best fit for my company?
Each program page includes detailed curriculum information and outcomes. Please review these carefully to find the best match for your current stage and business needs.
6. Does the AC provide mentorship or coaching?
Yes! Mentorship is at the heart of what we do. Every program includes access to experienced mentors who will help guide you through each stage of growth.
7. Can the AC help with hiring talent?
While we don’t directly hire for your company, we’ll connect you with resources, partners, and mentors to support your talent strategy and help you build a strong team.
8. Do you provide introductions to investors?
Yes. Through our investment readiness track, we prepare founders to confidently pitch to investors and make strategic introductions when the timing is right.
9. Do graduates continue to receive support after completing the program?
Yes! We encourage graduates to stay connected by attending community events, leveraging our network, and keeping us updated on your ongoing achievements.
10. Are there alumni networking opportunities?
Definitely. We have an active alumni community. If there’s a specific alumni company you’d like to connect with, let us know and we’ll help make the introduction where possible.
11. What kind of networking opportunities are available?
We host multiple events each month where founders can connect with peers, mentors, industry experts, and the broader entrepreneurial community.
12. What does success look like for companies in the program?
Success is different for every founder. Some programs are milestone-based, while others include funding upon completion. Across all programs, our goal is to help you achieve sustainable growth that’s tailored to your unique vision.
13. Does the program provide workspace or office space?
We offer office space for lease at our Waterloo headquarters. Workspace is not included in program fees and requires a separate application.
14. Where is the Accelerator Centre located?
Our headquarters are in Waterloo, Ontario, but we support startups virtually across Canada and internationally.
