AC Launches First Investor Month

March 28, 2023

To help our founders connect to new opportunities, build early relationships, and start securing investment, we launched our first Investor Month. Over the month of February, we invited our pre-seed to series A startups to tap into our investor network through 5 curated, sector-specific showcases.

It’s no secret, raising funds for a startup is never easy. AC founders have unparalleled access to investors and investor readiness education, but in today’s market, there are extra challenges.

“One of the hardest parts of being a founder is raising capital at the right time and finding the right investors that align with their vision,” said Shabab Chowdhury, Senior Associate of Investments and Advisory. “Not everyone starts with a network they can leverage to raise capital.”

To help our founders connect to new opportunities, build early relationships, and start securing investment, we launched our first Investor Month. Over the month of February, we invited our pre-seed to series A startups to tap into our investor network through 5 curated, sector-specific showcases:

  • B2B Software
  • FinTech
  • Mobility, Transportation, and Robotics
  • Apps, Marketplaces, and D2C
  • MedTech

Prior to pitching in front of top investors from our network, our founders received a crash course from our in-house investment support team where they learned how to perfect their pitches and prepare for questions from investors.

“Investor Month provided our startups with the opportunity to pitch in front of both Canadian and US investors, and the chance for our investor network to see what our startups can do and form connections,” said Shabab.

Following the showcase, we shared the pitch decks of all participating start-ups with our investor network. We’ve made over 66 introductions between founders and interested investors since the final showcase. In one month, our startups have been connected to new opportunities, built early relationships, and started securing investment.
