Accelerator Centre Announces Inaugural Cohort for AC:RevLab, Supporting Early-Stage Companies in Building Revenue-First Growth Strategies

The new program, which is part of the Scale-Up Platform delivered by Communitech, helps startups bridge the gap between early traction and scalable revenue by focusing on sales process, customer acquisition, and go-to-market execution.

July 23, 2025 - [Waterloo, ON] – Accelerator Centre (AC) is proud to announce the first cohort of the AC:RevLab program — a specialized initiative designed to help early-stage companies develop scalable revenue models, strengthen sales foundations, and accelerate customer acquisition. This program is supported by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

Following a highly competitive application process, the AC has selected 33 companies across a range of technology sectors to participate in the program. These companies will receive hands-on support from revenue growth experts, tailored mentorship, and access to the AC’s ecosystem of resources and partners including hands on support from experts at HubSpot, Canada’s leading tool for customer relationship management tool for marketing, sales, and service teams.

“Sales revenue is the lifeblood of any business, and this customer validation is especially critical for growing tech companies. AC:RevLab supports founders as they reach one of the most pivotal stages in their growth journey - turning early traction into sustainable revenue,” says Ruth Casselman, CEO at the Accelerator Centre. “This program is designed to help companies deliver on the promise of economic growth with expert sales and marketing support, real-time feedback, and a community of peers equally focused on results. We’re proud to launch this initiative with such a promising group of founders.”

Meeting a Market Need

Startups often find themselves navigating complex financial landscapes while still trying to achieve product-market fit. AC:RevLab bridges the gap between product ideas and sustainable sales growth by zeroing in on monetization strategies, customer feedback loops, and data-driven go-to-market experimentation.

“Every founder hits that moment where early traction isn’t enough. You need customers, revenue, and a repeatable path to growth. That’s where AC:RevLab comes in. It’s not just about sales strategy. It’s about surrounding founders with a community that’s been there, done that, and is ready to help,” says Sheldon McCormick, CEO at Communitech. “At Communitech, we’re proud to support programs that move fast, stay practical, and meet founders exactly where they are.”

“AC:RevLab is a launchpad for some of Ontario’s most promising startups—helping bold founders turn early-stage ideas into revenue-generating companies,” said the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. “Through the Scale-Up Platform and partners like the Accelerator Centre, the Government of Canada is proud to support this important work—fueling innovation, strengthening high-potential businesses, and helping to build the strongest economy in the G7.”

Applications for the next cohort of AC:RevLab are scheduled to open in late August 2025. Founders who are interested in participating are encouraged to register for program updates and be among the first to receive information when applications open.
