The Flash Graphene invention has been picked up by Nature and Science—the top two scientific publications in the world.
AC client Universal Matter Inc. is commercializing a new patent-pending process to become the world’s leading supplier of the most economical and high-quality graphene that is turbostratic in nature. This new process can also utilize a very broad range of carbon-based feedstock materials, including recycled plastics and biomass. The technology and additional developments are expected to support broad adoption of graphene across several major industries.
The Flash Graphene invention, as it is referred to, has been picked up by outlets around the world including Nature and Science—the top two scientific publications in existence.
“Most scientists dream of even having one article published in one of these two magazines in their entire career,” says John Van Leeuwen, CEO and Founding Partner of Universal Matter. “For the article to be accepted, it is peer reviewed and, in our case, a long list of clarifying questions came back. It took inventors Dr. Jim Tour and Dr. Duy Xuan Luong, several months of additional supporting research and a 61-page response to these questions to make the article accepted. This is incredibly hard work.”
Universal Matter is a current TD Sustainable Future Program client.
