You are a fledgling technology start up or small business looking to move to the next stage of maturity. You have a product or service that will be ready for the market in two years time and a management team in place with a business plan to make that happen. If this sounds like your business, you may be a candidate to become our next Accelerator Centre client.

Getting started in the process is simple:

  1. Explore our criteria for new applicants

    Candidates for the Accelerator Centre (AC) should have an identified market for their technology, a business plan and some initial funding. Candidates should also be open and receptive to mentoring and participating in a business development process with pre-determined milestones.

    Specifically, candidates should:

    1. be a for-profit business in a technology field;
    2. have a proprietary product or service that can be commercialized within two years;
    3. be in the early stages of business development as one of the following: * a start-up company * an existing small business that is in a growth phase or changing its focus
    4. have a basic business plan or a written description of a business and a financial forecast;
    5. have a management team in place that can demonstrate their ability to handle both the technical and managerial aspects of the business and is willing to seek and accept assistance from the Accelerator Centre and its network of service providers;
    6. be well-suited as a business to benefit from the Accelerator Centre services and environment;
    7. have the ability to pay the Accelerator Centre's fees for the intended term of access to the Centre's services and facilities; and
    8. have potential for positive economic impact on the community through: * a technology or service deemed to have a high potential impact in the marketplace * potential for rapid company growth

  2. Take the time to familiarize yourself with how the application process works

    Once prospective clients have submitted a preliminary application form, relevant members of the Accelerator Centre will review the form and arrange a meeting. If there is agreement to proceed, you will be asked to fill out a longer application form, provide an electronic copy of your business plan and supporting documentation to the client review panel of the Accelerator Centre's entrepreneurship council, and respond to any questions they may have.


  3. Understand the expectations we have of our graduating clients

    The Accelerator Centre will work closely with other organizations in the regional network to ensure that as a graduate, you have access to the resources required for your continued growth.
