Google for Startups Accelerator Canada has announced the nine startups selected to join the first cohort of its first and only Canadian accelerator program for early-stage tech companies utilizing machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) to solve complex challenges. The program is three months in length and is fully digital.
The program, designed for seed to Series A Canadian startups, offers equity-free support, mentorship, technical bootcamps and support, and the opportunity to provide feedback to Google’s product teams.
AC JumpStart recipient Kitchener-based LumenED is among the nine ventures joining the first cohort.
"We're excited to participate in the Google For Startups Canada Accelerator. We've been extremely fortunate to benefit from funding and advisory from great programs through the Accelerator Center, Velocity, and others to keep us honest and help us answer tough questions about our business." -Ryan McCartney, Co-Founder and CEO, LumenED
The edtech software company helps educational groups and tutoring companies get online, reduce administration and better connect with more students. The idea came when co-founders noticed their own children struggle with learning: they met with tutoring companies whose businesses were reaching a ceiling to their growth and quickly recognized a global shortfall in how we’re delivering education.
The startup believes that by increasing access to personalized learning and giving educators the freedom to operate remotely, everyone can achieve their maximum potential.
Congratulations LumenED! We’re so happy to continue supporting you on your journey.
