My theory on most things is that if you can find a trained professional to do things for you, you should let them do it. Obviously you go to a doctor if you are sick or a dentist to do a root canal, but I carry this theory over to much more than just that.
If someone has taken the time to put a big plow on the front of his truck, I'm happy to pay them to remove snow from my driveway. Somone has gathered a team of people that are willing to clean my kitchen counters and washrooms: come on over! I believe we should let cleaners clean, painters paint, and carpenters carpent(?).
Where am I going with this? Well here at the Accelerator Centre (AC) we approached our social media with a little knowledge and even less time to act upon what we didn't know. All of that has just changed for the better! We have hired a social media team to take control of our social media - brilliant.
We are thrilled to be working with the very skilled and experienced social media team from THEMUSEUM in Kitchener. They have done a great job of bringing worldwide recognition to the wonderful programs and exhibits in their building, and we know they will be a huge help.
Our goal is to bring awareness to the things going on at the Accelerator Centre but more importantly to bring attention to the outstanding accomplishments of our Clients that make up the Accelerator Program in two locations.
In their first week on the job, Derek and Angela, the team leaders from THEMUSEUM, had our Twitter feed more active than it had ever been with on-the-spot tweeting. We also had a very cool video put up on our YouTube channel highlighting a demonstration by Aeryon Labs that occurred at the AC during TEDxWaterloo. In the past, I have been a little nervous about doing live tweeting away from my desk because I don't want to embarrass our brand with typose and misspelled wwords.
So a big "Welcome" to our friends at THEMUSEUM and specifically the social media team that will no doubt be a huge success for the AC and our Clients. Oh, the reference to The Hunger Games in the title of this blog? It's pretty big right now so I just assumed some people would read on when they saw it. Sorry about that.
