I entered the Accelerator Centre this morning at 7:45am. We officially don't open until 8:30am so the main foyer was still dark but coming from our main boardroom was a beacon of light drawing my eyes towards the VIPs of our audit committee. There was our CEO sitting next to the Chair of our Board across from our CFO down from our senior accountant representative. What an opportunity! I could casually walk by the open door before they start the meeting and eavesdrop on what will assuredly be an intelligent and thought provoking conversation by a collection of brilliant minds. As I approached with eager anticipation I heard our COO, Tim Ellis, clear his throat to announce what will hopefully be a small nugget of gold I will be privy to and I hear him declare "I waxed my back yesterday!"
So before I get fired for misrepresentation of our COO I should put his statement in context by pointing out that Tim was happily describing one of the missions that were part of an amazing scavenger hunt that GooseChase (www.goosecha.se ) put on for the staff of the Accelerator Centre and Communitech. Andrew Cross, CEO & Co-Founder, and Max Spear, CFO & Co-Founder, have brought the scavenger hunt into the 21st century by allowing all of the participants to download an app onto their smart phones that will take care of the entire event. The app will not only give you a list of all of the possible missions but it then keeps track of your completed missions, shows a leader board to track what place you are in, and displays photos as proof of each team's completed missions.
I strongly encourage your business, your school, your sports team, etc. to consider the GooseChase scavenger hunt for your next team building activity. They can cater the missions to your specific group and ensure that they are relevant and fun. Because after all, not everyone is manly enough to wax their back!
