The classes are over and it is time for some "Startup Stories". The 10 week long Boot Camp that University of Waterloo VeloCity students have been participating in at the Accelerator Centre welcomed two young, energetic and successful entrepreneurs. Ali Asaria, CEO, Founder, Well.ca and John Baker, Founder, President & CEO, Desire2Learn both took time out of their busy schedules to share not only a great deal of business knowledge with the group but they also told some fantastic stories about the challenges that a startup company will face. This included dealing with growing employee numbers to dealing with the large competitors that will stand in your way.

Well.ca (www.well.ca) is now Canada's largest online health and beauty store. Ali started the company after working for and turning down job offers from a couple of major corporations. Well.ca has allowed Ali to enjoy the challenge of a startup and makes him happy about going to work every day while growing to over 40 employees.

Desire2Learn (www.desire2learn.com) is helping educators improve the learner's experience by providing eLearning solutions. Their products are being used by leading Colleges and Universities worldwide and by a number of other leading organizations from government agencies to industry. John started the company back in 1999 and he has grown the company into a 200 employee success story. Desire2Learn is currently seeking new talent to join their team, http://www.desire2learn.com/careers/jobs/.
