Chris Howlett
Chris has lived with his family in Waterloo for fifteen years. During that time he has held executive positions with Geosign (VP) , Maplesoft (CTO), and Freedom Intelligence/Aruna (CEO). He has served on the Boards of Directors of Maplesoft, Freedom Intelligence and Aruna. He was very active with Communitech in its formative years and is delighted to be working with the Communitech team again. He loves solving business problems with software systems and most of his experience is with companies that try to do that. Chris holds a PhD in Mathematics (McMaster) and an MBA (York).
Brett Shellhammer
Brett brings more than 20 years of enterprise software experience leading product development and marketing teams, including 5 Bay-area startups. His expertise is focused not only on building great products but also on aligning marketing, sales and services activities around product lines to build successful organizations.
Most recently Brett was SVP of Marketing at Coreworx Inc. in Kitchener. Previously he was SVP of Product Management at Eloqua in Toronto in 2007 & 2008 and prior to that spent seven years at OpenText (in Waterloo and San Francisco) where he was VP & General Manager of the Global 2000 & Government Business Unit. Brett holds a degree in Computer Science at The Pennsylvania State University
Lillian Bass
Lillian enjoys a demanding, creative technical environment. A CA with a strong operational streak, her specialty is providing leadership and getting things done in fast growing small and medium sized businesses. Lillian's various roles over her 25 year career have provided the executive team experience in operations, finance, HR, legal, and "back office" that she brings to her consulting clients (advising several startup and mature entrepreneurial engineering and software companies) and to her role as a Communitech EIR. Previously Lillian was VP Finance and Operations at IGLOO Inc., an early stage business social software company, CFO for engineering company Brock Solutions, and Corporate Financial Manager for ATS Automation Tooling Systems through its post-IPO growth and acquisition phase. Lillian was deeply involved in the start up of Angstrom Engineering, now an established and thriving provider of highly engineered R&D equipment for materials research. Lillian is a Wilfrid Laurier BBA and secured her Chartered Accountant designation while working at KPMG.
David Strucke
Besides acting as President & Chief Executive Officer of Navtech since 2001, he has also served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance & Accounting, Director of Finance and Accounting, and Business Analyst for Navtech Canada. Before joining the company, David focused on mergers and acquisitions as a financial analyst for an automotive capital equipment manufacturer and performed financial and accounting consulting work for manufacturing companies.
David obtained a MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor´s degree in Science in Engineering.
