Kurtis McBride
Kurtis holds a non-voting advisory seat on the Accelerator Centre's board of directors and is the CEO of Miovision Technologies Incorporated in Kitchener.
In 2006, Miovision was one of the first companies admitted to the Accelerator Centre, and in 2008, was one of the first companies to graduate from the Centre.
Kurtis founded Miovision Technologies Incorporated in 2005 with two other Systems Design graduates from the University of Waterloo. Miovision develops video and web-based technologies to help traffic consultants and municipal governments reduce the cost of collecting, analyzing, and reporting accurate traffic data.
Kurtis is a driven entrepreneur responsible for Miovision's strategic vision and revenue growth. Prior to starting Miovision, Kurtis held positions in product management, product marketing, product development and software design at Nortel Networks and Cypress Semiconductor. He also holds a Masters of Systems Design from the University of Waterloo with a specialization in computer vision. Kurtis is passionate about fostering great working environments and about building strong company cultures. When not in the board room, you can find Kurtis on the pitching mound where he plays semi-competitive hardball.
