Robert Carley
Dr. Robert Carley is Executive Dean, Academic Administration at Conestoga Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. In that position, he provides academic and administrative guidance to the three main schools: Engineering and Information Technology; Business; and Health. He has responsibility for all new program development and online learning, and the departments of applied research and innovation, language studies, continuing education and corporate training, curriculum, education technology, communications and liberal studies, career and academic access, and the learning resource centre.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University; a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto; a Master of Science from the University of Guelph; and a Doctor of Philosophy from Toronto, in Education theory. He has taught at the Faculty of Education at Toronto and at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he was responsible for the Adult Education program. While at the University of Guelph, Office of Open Learning, Robert won a national award for creativity in online courses.
He is on the management board of the Ontario College Quality Assurance Service, overseeing both the Credentials Validation Service and the Program Quality Assurance Process Audit for Ontario colleges. His research activities have been in the area of adult education, community development, education policy, and student growth and development.
